NESTING WINE SET
This project began during a RISD design course sponsored by RIEDEL. The brief was simply to design a new drinking vessel. I chose to broaden the problem, exploring how the glassware itself could shape the social dynamics and ritual of drinking while keeping the product and brand central to the experience.

The concept pairs a central decanter with three conical glasses that cannot stand independently. Once filled, each glass must either remain in the drinker’s hand or return to its position within the decanter. With all three glasses removed, wine can be poured; returning even one pauses the next round until the group is ready to continue together. This creates a deliberate rhythm of pouring, drinking and returning, encouraging presence, shared pacing and a more considerate exchange between drinkers. The prototypes below were used to refine both the form and the fabrication methods necessary for the final piece.
